A lead-acid battery of the present invention comprises: an electrode plate group (1) formed by stacking a positive electrode plate (1a) and a negative electrode plate (1b) with a separator (1c) interposed therebetween, said positive electrode plate (1a) consisting of a positive electrode active material and a positive electrode lattice (4), said negative electrode plate (1b) consisting of a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode lattice; and a battery container (2) for housing the electrode plate group (1). The positive electrode lattice (4) consists of an expanding lattice formed by expanding a lead alloy sheet. The expanding lattice has an upper frame bone (4a) and meshes (4c) consisting of a lattice bone (4b). The thickness of the lead alloy sheet before being expanded is 1.15 mm to 1.6 mm, inclusive, and the width (W) of each of the meshes (4c) consisting of the lattice bone (4b) is 5 mm to 20 mm, inclusive. |
