Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for purifying glycerin, generated in the biodiesel production process, which can produce glycerin with high-purity from crude glycerin generated in the process of producing biodiesel from waste cooking oil. The method for purifying glycerin generated in the biodiesel production process comprises: a neutralization process of supplying crude glycerin and a catalyst to a neutralization tank to be heated and stirred to remove oil and neutralize the crude glycerin; a concentration process of supplying the neutralized glycerin to a concentrator and evaporating moisture and alcohol contained in the neutralized glycerin to be concentrated; a transferring process of supplying the concentrated glycerin to a capacitor to be cooled, removing moisture and alcohol contained in the concentrated glycerin, and transferring the resultant glycerin to a first purifying glycerin tank; a filtering process of supplying the primarily purified glycerin and coagulants to a reactor to be stirred, separating and removing impurities from the primarily purified glycerin by steam injected to the reactor, and then supplying the remaining components to a first filter to filter the glycerin; a cooling process of supplying the glycerin passed through the first filter to a distillation tank to be heated and distilled and cooling the glycerin; and a manufacturing process of supplying the distilled glycerin and an adsorbent agent to a bleaching tank to be bleached and supplying the bleached glycerin to a second filter to allow the bleached glycerin to be filtered. |
