[Also in Group XXV] A component such as a transformer 1 or a cradle switch frame for a telephone is fastened to a mounting plate 40 formed from a resilient pliable material, the transformer having a T- shaped lug 8 and two projections 4 and 5, and the mounting plate having an aperture with a wide part 14 and a narrow part 15 for the lug and two holes 16, 17 for the projections, by first pushing the soldering tags 12 into their slots 13 and the lug 8 into the aperture 14 and shown in Fig. 3 then bending the plate (Fig. 4) so that the neck 9 of the lug can be engaged in the narrow part 15 of the aperture by relative movement between the plate and the transformer whereby the projections 6, 7 enter the holes 16, 17 (see Fig. 5). A cradle switch frame 22 (Fig. 11) is mounted on a plate 25 in a similar way by engaging lugs 26, 27 in apertures 28, 29 bending the plate upwardly at both sides and sliding it relatively to the frame so that projection 31 enters hole 32. The mounting plate together with its components is fixed to a base plate to allow movement in only one direction by providing extra shoulders (such as 11 in Fig. 1) on the lugs 8 and 26, 27 which engage in T-shaped and L-shaped slots respectively in the base plate.
