A device for outputting sound according to various embodiments of the present invention comprises: a first speaker and a second speaker; a first connecting unit and a second connecting unit capable of being connected to the first connecting unit; a sensor unit sensing at least one among the connection state, the separation distance, and the separation time between the first and second connecting units; a communication module forming a communication channel with an electronic device; and a control unit receiving sound information according to sound-outputting function from the electronic device, generating control information for controlling the sound-outputting function based on the at least one among the connection state, the separation distance, and the separation time between the first and second connecting units, and controlling the generated control information to be transmitted to the electronic device.
