<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a cathode active material that can form a secondary battery having excellent high-rate charging performance; and a secondary battery using the cathode active material. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary battery active material contains phosphoric acid vanadium lithium of Nasicon structure. The phosphoric acid vanadium lithium is phosphoric acid vanadium manganese lithium that a part of vanadium is replaced with manganese. The secondary battery active material contains each atom of lithium, vanadium, manganese, phosphor and oxygen. The secondary battery active material, in which the ratio of the atomic number of manganese to that of vanadium is not less than 0.5% nor more than 8%, is excellent in high-rate charging performance. Therefore, it is capable of improving the high-rate charging performance of a secondary battery comprised of a secondary battery electrode containing the secondary battery active material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
