PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ceramic-based composite member furthermore smoothed without surface irregularities in comparison with a conventional one, and not exerting a bad influence on gas flow when being used as a component forming a channel of high-temperature gas or a component existing in the channels such as a rocket engine component.SOLUTION: This method for producing a ceramic-based composite member having a smooth surface includes: an impregnation step for applying a wet excitation impregnation method using slurry containing raw material powder to a ceramic-based composite member having irregularities on the surface, to thereby obtain a post-impregnation composite member filled with the raw material powder; a forming step for forming the post-impregnation composite member so that its surface becomes smooth, to thereby obtain a post-surface formation composite member; a drying step for separating and removing a solvent in the slurry from the post-surface formation composite member, to thereby obtain a dried composite member; and a smoothing step for forming a coating on the surface of the dried composite member by applying a gaseous phase method to the dried composite member, to thereby obtain a ceramic-based composite member having a smoothed surface. |
