Provided are a semiconductor device and an operation method thereof. The semiconductor device includes: a touchscreen panel including a plurality of hover sensors performing self capacitance sensing; a TX driving unit providing a plurality of driving signals to the touchscreen panel; an RX sensing unit sensing a hover input from the touchscreen panel; and an encoding unit encoding the driving signals provided from the TX driving unit and providing the encoded driving signals to the touchscreen panel. Therefore, the semiconductor device can improve the degree of sensing accuracy for a space input or the hover input for the touchscreen panel and miniaturize a touchscreen panel driving circuit.
