摘要

The present invention relates to an eco-friendly antifoulant and an antifouling paint composition. More specifically, the present invention relates to an antifoulant containing, as an active ingredient, thymol which is represented by chemical formula 1, and to an antifouling paint composition using the same. According to the present invention, the antifouling paint composition does not contain marine pollutants such as organic tin and cuprous oxide and thus exhibits superior antifouling effects against marine adherent organisms while seldom affecting the marine ecosystem and the human body. Thus, the composition can be applied as an antifouling system used in fishing nets, vessels, and maritime structures.
