MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND INTEGRATED CIRCUIT FOR MOTOR DRIVE

A motor assembly and an integrated circuit (18) for motor drive. The motor assembly comprises a motor (10) capable of being powered by an AC power source (24) and a motor drive circuit. The motor comprises a stator and a rotor (11) capable of rotating relative to the stator. The stator comprises a stator iron core (12) and a stator winding (16) wound on the stator iron core. The drive circuit comprises an integrated circuit and a controllable bi-directional AC switch (26) connected to the integrated circuit. The controllable bi-directional AC switch and the stator winding are in series connection between two terminals which are configured to be connected to the AC power source. At least two of a rectifier (28), a detection circuit (20) and a switch control circuit (30) are integrated into the integrated circuit. The switch control circuit is configured to control the controllable bi-directional AC switch to be switched between a switch-on state and a switch-off state in a predetermined manner according to the polarity of the AC power source and the polarity of a rotor magnetic field of the detection circuit. Hence, the integrated circuit can ensure that the motor is started to rotate along a fixed direction when being energized each time.
