Provided are a user state processing method and apparatus. The processing method comprises: monitoring, by a base station, a D2D state and a cellular state of a user equipment, wherein the D2D state is used for indicating whether the UE has D2D sending or D2D receiving, and the cellular state is used for indicating whether an enhanced radio access bearer of the UE has the sending or receiving of a data packet; and when monitoring that the D2D state and/or the cellular state is in an inactive state, initiating, by the base station, the releasing of an S1 connection and/or a radio resource control (RRC) connection. By means of the technical solutions provided in the present invention, the technical problem in the relevant art that there is no solution for processing a state of a UE which performs D2D communication or discovery, etc. is solved, so that a base station can accurately judge an active state of the UE and process same, which ensures smooth D2D transmission. |
