The application relates to Circuit-switched fall back, CSFB, where a user equipment, UE (502), falls back from a packet-switched, PS (506), radio access technology, RAT, to a circuit-switched, CS (504), RAT, so that it can conduct voice calls. When the CS voice call cannot be setup or fails after having been set-up (524), a UE of the prior art may return immediately to the PS RAT, which is known as fast return. However, in case of failure, the failed call might be attempted again shortly afterwards which would require another fallback. However multiple fallbacks and returns degrade the user experience. Therefore the application proposes that the UE integrates a timer which forces the UE to wait a predetermined amount of time (526) after the failure before returning to the PS RAT. |
