The cavity (6) has a pillar, and a conductive enclosure (40) partially incorporating the pillar and a die (10). An end of the pillar is fixed to a base (45) of the enclosure. An opposite end of the pillar supports the die. The enclosure and the pillar form a transmission line, where capacitance per unit length of an intermediate portion (20b) of the transmission line located between the ends of the pillar is greater than capacitance per unit length in portions (20a, 20c) of the transmission line. An independent claim is also included for a method for designing a resonant cavity. |
