PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate a lifetime of an electromagnetic induction type sensor by enabling repair of an electromagnetic induction type sensor without turning a ladle off-lined, and by avoiding the risk of damage of the electromagnetic induction type sensor even during the work of bottom brick demolition for ladle repair.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for sensing an outflow of slag 5 from a ladle 1 by using an electromagnetic induction type sensor 3 when a molten steel 4 is injected from the ladle 1 into a tundish 8 during steel continuous casting. The electromagnetic induction type sensor 3 so installed as to surround a long nozzle 6 independent of a molten steel discharge nozzle 2 connected to this molten steel discharge nozzle 2 under the molten steel discharge nozzle 2 installed on the bottle of the ladle 1 is used to sense a slag outflow from the ladle 1. When the slag outflow is sensed, the injection of the molten steel 4 from the ladle 1 into the tundish 8 is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
