PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for acquisition of an image of high picture quality in still image shooting, while suppressing variation of the picture quality in the moving image shooting, in the control for maintaining the subject ratio included in an image by combining optical zoom and electronic zoom substantially constant.SOLUTION: In an imaging device having imaging means, selection means for selecting the imaging mode, and control means for controlling optical zoom and electronic zoom so that the ratio of size of a subject region in a screen falls within a predetermined ratio, the control means controls to set the electronic zoom rate lower than the optical zoom rate preferentially in a mode for shooting a still image, and controls to hold the electronic zoom rate constant preferentially in a mode for shooting a moving image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
