The invention relates to a method for operating a mobile terminal for use in a mobile radio network. The mobile terminal comprises memory means which can be loaded with at least one application program for execution on the mobile terminal. In order to allow for an improved and functionally wider use of application programs, especially with respect to possible graphical and/or acoustic uses, the at least one application program is loaded in the memory means of the mobile terminal as specifically selected by the user.
