The present invention relates to a method and an impression element (1, 11) for taking a dental impression in the mouth. The method according to the invention comprises taking a preliminary impression by means of a thick-flowing or thin-flowing impression material and subsequently taking a precise impression by means of a thin-flowing impression material. In a first step, at least one partial region of at least one tooth, of which an impression is to be taken, is covered at least by means of at least one dimensionally stable impression element. In a second step, an impression by way of a preliminary impression is taken of the at least one tooth of which an impression is to be taken, said tooth being at least partially covered in the first step by means of the at least one dimensionally stable impression element, this being done by means of a thick-flowing or thin-flowing impression material. In a third step, the impression produced in the second step and the one dimensionally stable impression element are removed from the at least one tooth of which an impression is to be taken. In a fourth step, a high-resolution impression is produced by precision impression-taking of the at least one tooth of which an impression is to be taken, by means of a thin-flowing impression material. |
