A transceiver device combination (100) includes a first ultrasound transducer (140) and a processor chip (110) including a central processing unit (CPU) (111). A memory (112) is coupled to the CPU (111) including stored ultrasound communications software (119) for rendering the processor chip (110) a target device for an ultrasound probe driven via a host computing device having a second ultrasound transducer for together performing ultrasonic debugging of the processor chip (110). The transceiver device combination (100) includes: a transmit path including an ultrasound driver (126) having an input driven by an output of the CPU (111), where an output of the ultrasound driver (126) is coupled to drive an input of the first ultrasound transducer (140) to transmit ultrasound signals; and a receive path including analog signal processing circuitry that couples an output of the first ultrasound transducer (140) responsive to received ultrasound signals from the ultrasound probe to an input of the CPU (111). |
