Disclosed are a channel code rate allocation method, system and remote image transfer system, the method comprising: constructing a directed acyclic graph according to data packets generated after source encoding and a channel encoding rate set, and forming a first set of a plurality of continuing candidate code rate allocation policies via a generating operator; according to a rate-distortion function of the embedded source code and the error resilient capability of each channel code in the channel encoding rate set, obtaining from the first set of candidate code rate allocation policies an optimal code rate allocation policy for the channel of a source encoding stream via a heuristic search algorithm; according to the optimal path code rate allocation policy, performing channel code rate allocation on the source encoding stream. The method of the present invention can improve image transfer quality in the case of low computation complexity.
