PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber which can reduce a load variation at a slide of a piston at a compression operation, and is improved in operation stability at the compression operation.SOLUTION: A shock absorber comprises a cylinder 3 which accommodates liquid (working fluid) therein, a piston part 4 arranged in the cylinder, and a rod 5 for holding the piston part. The piston part 4 comprises a main piston 41 connected to the rod 5, and a subordinate piston 42 which is arranged closer to one end side of the cylinder than the main piston, and connected to the main piston via elastic means 43. Since the maximum static friction force between the main piston 41 and the cylinder 3 is set smaller than the maximum static friction force between the subordinate piston 42 and the cylinder 3, the main piston 41 and the subordinate piston 42 operate in a direction in which the main piston and the subordinate piston approximate one end of the cylinder together after the main piston 41 is operated in the direction in advance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
