PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which setting for executing printing regardless of whether a size of a sheet designated by a print job is matched to a registered size of a sheet housed in a sheet housing part can be performed correspondingly to the sheet housing part prior to execution of printing, a control method of the printer, a program and a storage medium.SOLUTION: In a first printing mode, printing is executed in the case where the size of the sheet designated by the print job is matched to the size of the sheet stored in a storage part, and printing is stopped in the case where the size of the sheet designated by the print job is not matched to the size of the sheet stored in the storage part. In a second printing mode, printing is executed without discriminating whether the size of the sheet designated by the print job is matched to the size of the sheet stored in the storage part.
