Provided are a display apparatus and a controlling method thereof. The display apparatus includes a display panel part; a reflection part which is arranged on the display panel part, changes the color thereof according to temperature, and reflects light emitted from the outside; a heating part which is arranged on the reflection part, and generates heat to control the temperature of the reflection part; an illuminance detection part which detects the illuminance of the light emitted from the outside; and a control part which control the heating part to generate heat to control the temperature of the reflection part according to an illuminance value detected through the illuminance detection part.
