Provided is an access point device for a wireless local area network (LAN) whereby the number of wireless communication devices to be connected within the entirety of an arbitrary space can be increased. This access point device (3) is an access point device for a wireless LAN that is connected to a wired network (NL) and allows multiple wireless communication clients (4) to be simultaneously connected to the wired network (NL). The access point device has: an interface unit (13) that exchanges a communication signal with an external device (2); an antenna unit (6) that receives/transmits, in the form of a wireless communication signal, the communication signal exchanged with the interface unit (13); and an attenuator (10) that is disposed at a signal-emitting part of the antenna unit (6) and reduces the communicable range of the wireless communication signal. |
