A pack 100 for holding and recharging an e-cigarette (10), said pack comprising: a pack battery 151; a first connector which is electrically connectable to an external power source; a first recharging mechanism for recharging the pack battery 151 using the external power source; a tube 132A for receiving an e-cigarette (10) such that the e-cigarette can be contained within the recharging pack; a second connector 700 which is electrically connectable to an e-cigarette contained within the pack; and a second recharging mechanism for recharging the e-cigarette (10) when it is electrically connected to the second connector 700 and is configured to provide protection against the pack battery 151 providing excessive current through the second connector. In another embodiment, the second recharging mechanism is configured to prevent recharging of the battery if the voltage output of the battery exceeds a predetermined threshold, and a rechargeable e-cigarette (10) comprising a recharging mechanism configured in such a manner is also claimed. Also claimed is a method of operating pack 100 comprising the steps of detecting when a foreign object is located in the tube 132A and protecting against the pack battery 151 providing current through the second connector 700. |
