[Problem] With regard to a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, to provide a means capable of maintaining battery characteristics by improving wettability of positive and negative electrode active material layers by having the ratio of the liquid absorption (soaking) speed of an electrolyte to the positive and negative electrode active material layers in an appropriate range when an aqueous binder is used in the negative electrode active material layer. [Solution] Provided is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a power generating element enclosed within an outer casing, in which the power generating element has a positive electrode obtained by forming a positive electrode active material layer on a surface of a positive electrode current collector, a negative electrode obtained by forming a negative electrode active material layer containing an aqueous binder on a surface of a negative electrode current collector, and a separator for maintaining an electrolyte liquid, and Tc/Ta is in the range of 0.6 to 1.3 when Tc is the soak-in time of the electrolyte liquid into the positive electrode active material layer and Ta is the soak-in time of the electrolyte liquid into the negative electrode active material layer.
