The present invention relates to an energy storage system for arc diagnosis and a method of the same. The energy system is connected to a power condition system (PCS) which supplies power to a load and which is linked to a grid. The energy storage system comprises: a battery; a sensing unit measuring voltage of the battery or current; a battery management system (BMS) sensing whether an arc occurs based on a voltage signal or a current signal outputted from the sensing unit, and generating a control signal when an arc occurs; and a relay for connecting the battery to the PCS or detaching the battery from the PCS by performing opening/closing operation depending on the BMS control signal. |
