The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing a web-based advertisement by using a Wi-Fi network, which allow a user to receive an advertisement provided by a place of business when the user uses a wireless Internet service through the Wi-Fi network installed in the place of business. To this end, the present invention preferably enables: a packet control server to analyze a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request packet so as to determine whether an advertisement is provided, and to generate an HTTP response packet depending on the determination result so as to transmit the HTTP response packet to the terminal, when the terminal requests a web page from a web server through the Wi-Fi network; the terminal to transmit, to an advertisement server, an advertisement request packet for requesting an advertisement on the basis of a URL of the advertisement server included in the HTTP response packet; the advertisement server to determine advertisement content to be transmitted to the terminal and an advertisement inventory on which the advertisement content is to be displayed, on the basis of user information included in the advertisement request packet and targeting information mapped according to each advertisement content, and to include the determined advertisement content and advertisement inventory in the HTTP response packet so as to transmit the HTTP response packet to the terminal; and the terminal to download, from the advertisement server, an advertisement page on the basis of an advertisement content URL included in the HTTP response packet received from the advertisement server, and to display the advertisement page on the advertisement inventory. Accordingly, the present invention can provide the user with the advertisement (real-time events, discount coupons, information about stores around the user, etc.) provided by the place of business when the user uses the wireless Internet service through the Wi-Fi network installed in the place of business, thereby enabling effective advertising and marketing for leading to consumption. |
