PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for suppressing reduction of correction accuracy in the case where another defective pixel is included in peripheral pixels, in an image processing system for correcting a defective pixel by using the peripheral pixels.SOLUTION: The image processing system includes first correction means and second correction means. A plurality of pixels included in an image are defined as a concerned pixel in order and it is discriminated whether the concerned pixel is a defective pixel. In the case where the concerned pixel is discriminated as a defective pixel, the first correction means corrects the concerned pixel by using the peripheral pixels of the concerned pixel. When correcting the concerned pixel, the first correction means does not use known defective pixels included in the peripheral pixels for correcting the concerned pixel. Regarding each of correction pixels which are corrected by the first correction means using a defective pixel that is unknown in the case of correction, the second correction means corrects the correction pixels by using the peripheral pixels which are used by the first correction means. Regarding a defective pixel in the peripheral pixels used by the first correction means, the second correction means uses the correction pixels which are corrected by the first correction means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
