PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for electrical insulation, which comprises a resin having an imide bond or an amide bond, and having good adhesion not only when the coated matter (especially, a resin coated conductor such as metallic copper, an enamel wire, and the like) has no heat history but also after a heat history.SOLUTION: A material for electrical insulation includes a resin, which comprises in a molecule: a unit (a) containing a structure derived from ethylene oxide or propylene oxide as a repeating unit; a unit (b) formed of a unit containing a structure derived from ethylene oxide or propylene oxide as a repeating unit, or a unit having a structure different from the foregoing unit; and a bond (x) which links the unit (a) and the unit (b).
