PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device and an LED luminaire that can optimize an unloaded set voltage even when there is any dispersion in forward drop voltage of LED, thereby enabling securement of startability under a normal state of LED and suppression of inrush current when an unloaded state is recovered.SOLUTION: An LED lighting device (1) has a power supply circuit portion (100) capable of supplying a variable output voltage and output current to LED (2), a voltage detection circuit (200) for detecting the output voltage, a current detection circuit (250) for detecting the output current, and a control circuit (300) which has a reference value generator (311) for gradually increasing the output voltage after the operation of the power supply circuit portion is started and until the output current is detected, an achieving unit (312) for achieving a lighting voltage at the time point when the output current is detected, a determining unit (313) for determining an unloaded set voltage on the basis of the achieved lighting voltage, and a storage unit (314) for storing the unloaded set voltage, and controls the power supply circuit portion so that the stored unloaded set voltage becomes the upper limit value of the output voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
