PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for faster executing packet processing by referring to a table.SOLUTION: Processing designation information representing processing to be executed to a packet and identification information identifying the packet are correspondently stored on a first storage part 11b. In the case where processing designation information on the first storage part 11b identified by a first value calculated by using data on a received packet designates processing in a second processing section 12, a first packet processing part 11a generates retrieval result information and outputs the generated retrieval result information to the second processing section 12 together with a second value calculated by a calculation section 11c and the received packet. A second packet processing section 12a uses the retrieval result information or the second value to read processing information required for processing the received packet from a second storage section 12b and executes processing to the received packet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
