PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent having good storage stability and coating property for a substrate and capable of giving a liquid crystal display element having electric characteristics, liquid crystal aligning property, and heat resistance all in a good balance.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent contains one or more polymers as a polymer component; and the polymer component contains a partial structure (a-1) represented by formula (1) and a partial structure (a-2) represented by formula (2).
