PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handheld device capable of efficiently collecting an optoacoustic signal of an object and a corresponding method.SOLUTION: A handheld device 1 comprises an irradiation unit 6 which irradiates an object with electromagnetic radiation, especially light radiation, and detector units 3, 4 which detect the ultrasonic waves emitted from the object with light irradiation. In order to perform three-dimensional multispectral imaging in real-time, which allows not only imaging of dynamic anatomical, functional, and molecular phenomena in the object but also avoids motion- and limited-view-related image artifacts, and thus facilitates quantitative image acquisition, the detector unit comprises a two-dimensional array of a plurality of detector elements 4 arranged along a first surface 3. |
