PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of reducing power consumption and improving the measurement accuracy of the travel distance of a user.SOLUTION: A storage unit 103 stores relation data indicating the relationships between pitches and travel speeds. A travel detecting unit 105 measures the pitch of a user. An external travel distance detecting unit 110 detects a travel distance of the user. A processing unit 101 calculates the travel speed of the user from the pitch of the user measured by the travel detecting unit 105 on the basis of the relation data stored in the storage unit 103. The processing unit 101 makes the external travel distance detecting unit 110 start travel distance detection at a prescribed timing, makes the external travel distance detecting unit 110 terminate travel distance detection after a prescribed time has elapsed from the start of travel distance detection, and calculates a travel speed on the basis of the travel distance detected by the external travel distance detecting unit 110. The processing unit 101 then corrects the relation data on the basis of the pitch measured by the travel detecting unit 105 and the calculated travel speed.
