[Also in Division G5] A box used to display, e.g. tinned goods &c., comprises a body 1, Fig. 1 (not shown), of trapezium cross-section, made from a blank of cardboard, plastics &c., and containing a tray 1 of the same shape carrying the goods, a support beneath the tray and within the body holding up the tray. The tray 2, Fig. 3 (not shown), has a flap 9 along each of its four edges, bent downwards to permit the tray to be pushed into the body 1. The support beneath the tray 2 may consist either of two rectangular cardboard members 10, 11, Fig. 5 (not shown), each slotted at 12 half-way across with the two slots engaging to make a cruciform member, or alternatively may consist of a U-shaped cardboard member 4, Fig. 6 (not shown). The box blank is scored at 7, Fig. 2 (not shown), along one of its shorter sides, so that it may easily be collapsed. The blank is formed into a box by gluing or stapling a flap 6 to the opposite edge thereof. A display card 5, Figs. 1, 7 (not shown), having two slots G, H cut into one edge to make a mounting tongue, is pushed on to one side of the open edge of the box. Advertising matter may be shown both on the display card 5 and on all the walls of the box body 1. The box is so shaped that it may stand together with one or more similar boxes to make a display arrangement, Figs. 8a-8e (not shown).</p> |
