The present invention relates to a method for preparing kelp powder, which enables kelp to be drunk as a tea by doubling the unique taste and aroma of kelp. According to the present invention, the method for preparing kelp powder comprises: a washing process of washing kelp to remove foreign materials attached to the kelp and salt of the kelp; a drying and puffing process of drying the washed kelp and puffing the same; a powder formation process of making kelp powder by grinding the puffed kelp; and a roasting process of heating and roasting the kelp powder.
