The device has a pump wheel (2), and a switchable coupling arrangement for switchable connection of the pump wheel with a drive side. The pump wheel is rotatably supported on a rotatable drive shaft (1). An electromagnetic coil i.e. electromagnet (8), acts on a magnetically conductive anchor element (7). A contact unit e.g. engagement portion (6) and wedge element, is designed for force-fit and/or a form-fit connection with a contact portion (2a) at the pump wheel rotated on the drive shaft. The contact portion is brought at the wheel by a compression spring.
