摘要 The present invention includes methods and compositions control hard water in an alkaline environment. According to the invention, a unique combination of polymers has been developed which helps to completely control and eliminate hard water. The composition includes a maleic polymer, a hydroxypolycarboxylic acid, and a starch based polymer in a unique synergistic combination that can be used alone, or in combination with standard alkaline detergents in any cleaning regime (laundry, warewash, etc.) where hard water conditions exist.
