Provided are a surface acoustic wave (SAW) element and a biosensor using the same. The surface acoustic wave element, regarding an arrival of an oscillating signal at a reflector area which is a target area targeted by a signal oscillating interdigital transducer (IDT), comprises: a LiNbO_3 substrate cut in 64° Y-X, which measures a reflecting type signal having a property of not being affected by a first reflector, which is a reflector in a surface passage, and a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) thin film.
