The device has a transparent optical fiber (13) with coupling surface for coupling light (39) into the fiber. Multiple reflection surfaces (31) reflect the light that is uncoupled from the fiber by uncoupling region. The uncoupling region has multiple uncoupling elements (27) for uncoupling the light from the optical fiber, and the uncoupling elements are attached to the reflection surfaces. The reflection surfaces are aligned and/or formed with respect to the uncoupling elements, such that a part of the light reflected by the reflection surfaces run through the fiber.
