PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the fuel economy performance of a spark ignition type internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: When controlling a spark ignition type internal combustion engine which ignites an air-fuel mixture in a cylinder by initiating spark discharge in a spark plug arranged in the cylinder, electrical energy inputted into the spark plug for initiating the spark discharge is increased as a temperature of the internal combustion engine is low, and increased as an air-fuel ratio is lean, and a ratio of a change amount of the electrical energy inputted into the spark plug with respect to a change amount of the air-fuel ratio is set large as the temperature of the internal combustion engine is high. |
