PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a do-not-disturb system and apparatus.SOLUTION: A system for providing messaging services comprises: a detector configured to detect a person approaching the system; an indicator communicatively coupled to the detector and configured to, in response to a signal from the detector indicating the approaching person, output an indication that the system is in a do-not-disturb mode and prompt the approaching person to leave a message; an input device configured to receive a message from the approaching person; and a memory device configured to store the message.
