Disclosed are a digital micro-mirror device control apparatus and a projection display system. The digital micro-mirror device control apparatus comprises: a video decoding circuit for decoding received video data to obtain component data signals of a plurality of colours, and a digital micro-mirror device drive circuit formed by a first drive sub-circuit and a second drive sub-circuit, wherein an input end of the first drive sub-circuit is connected to the video decoding circuit, and an output end of the first drive sub-circuit is connected to a first digital micro-mirror device; an input end of the second drive sub-circuit is connected to the video decoding circuit, and an output end of the second drive sub-circuit is connected to a second digital micro-mirror device; and the first drive sub-circuit and the second drive sub-circuit are used for processing component data signals of at least three colours of the plurality of colours. By means of the present invention, the effect of increasing the efficiency of displaying images by the projection display system is achieved.
