PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display including an orientation film, grid-like black matrixes, and a color filter layer that can suppress occurrence of display defects even under severe conditions without compromising the aperture ratio of pixels.SOLUTION: In an image display region of a counter substrate 31, a boundary 13C between color regions 12R, 12G, and 12B of a color filter layer 12 is moved to the upper side in a rubbing direction 2 from a center line 11A of a black matrix 11 by a 1 μm or more in a covered region 24 covered with the black matrix 11. Further, a center line 14A of a signal line 11 is moved to the upper side in the rubbing direction 2 by a 1 μm or more by an array substrate 32. Auxiliary capacitance lines 18A and 18B extend parallel to the signal line 11 at both sides of the signal lines 11, and the space between the auxiliary capacitance lines 18A and 18B is reduced or increased by the space made by moving the signal line 11. |
