A dual power supply for an energy storage system according to the embodiment of the present invention comprises a battery management system for managing a battery; a DC-DC converter that drops an output voltage of the battery; and a load sharing unit that receives power for an operation of the energy storage system from the battery and an exterior power source via the DC-DC converter if the power is provided from the exterior power source and the DC-DC converter, and provides the power to an electrical apparatus in the battery management system and the energy storage system, receives the power for the operation of the energy storage system from the battery via the DC-DC converter if the power is not provided from the exterior power source, and provides the power to the battery management system and an electrical apparatus in the energy storage system, receives the power for the operation of the energy storage system from the exterior power source if the power is not provided from the DC-DC converter, and provides the power to the battery management system and the electrical apparatus in the energy storage system, and thus an immediate monitoring for an inoperable state of the exterior power source and the converter is possible and can provide the power stably to an electrical apparatus such as a battery management system in an energy management system in an emergency without any concern about the inoperable state, can guarantee a longer life of a switch mode power supply and the DC-DC converter and can maintain highly an available capacity of a battery. |
