<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image coding system which is capable of improving coding efficiency by controlling a code amount in accordance with accuracy of a predictive image, in a Wyner-Ziv coding technique. <P>SOLUTION: The image coding system comprises: block generation means which divides an image frame into image frames of optional sizes to generate block data; code amount addition determination means which estimates the accuracy of a predictive image corresponding to each block data and if the accuracy of the predictive image is lower than a threshold, outputs a code amount addition signal relating to the block data; and coding means which is configured to perform Wyner-Ziv coding on the basis of each piece of inputted block data to generate a WZ code and if the code amount addition signal is given, generates an additive code on the basis of the block data, and outputs the additive code in addition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
