[Also in Division A2] Pellets, having a core of a soft fatty material coated with a harder fatty material, are formed by spraying molten droplets of the core material from jets 25 on to a fluidized bed 10 of cooled particles 16 of the coating material. The coated solidified pellets are drawn off from the upper regions of the bed by a rotating mesh drum, having baffles 21, from which the particles are deposited on to a shoot 26. The mesh is such as to allow the coating particles and molten droplets to pass therethrough. |
