<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor device that can be fully reset from any step-out even if momentary power failure occurs more than once during initialization operation. <P>SOLUTION: When a microcomputer 4 has returned from a momentary power failure and power supply is resumed, a pointer is turned in the returning direction by an angle θ (the current position of the pointer) + α°.
