<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor which can suppress burnout of a coil, can also prevent an increase in manufacturing cost, and furthermore can prevent a change of a shape of a magnet, when accelerating a rotation and reducing torque. <P>SOLUTION: The electric motor comprises: a yoke having a plurality of magnets arranged therein; an armature shaft which is rotatably supported inside the yoke; an armature core 8 having teeth 12 fixed on the armature shaft and a plurality of slots 13 formed between the teeth 12 respectively; an armature coil 9 wound between predetermined slots 13; a commutator 10 which is fixed on the armature shaft and has a plurality of segment pieces 15; and a brush in slidable contact with the segment pieces 15 of the commutator 10.
