PURPOSE:To recognize whether a logical unit to be maintained is present or not without providing a special register for the logical unit by providing a decision control means causing a connection state deciding means to process all connectable logical units at the time of rise. CONSTITUTION:In terms of a connection registration part 34, when information showing that a device number corresponding to the logical unit is under connection is stored in a device arrangement storage means 8, the processing of the connection state deciding means 7 is completed, and the processing of the decision control means 6 is resumed. The device number deciding whether the connection is present or not in a device number updating part 24 is given in correspondence to the logical unit 2, and information showing that the logical units 2 and 3 are under connection is stored in the device arrangement storage means 8. In terms of the device number next to the logical unit 3 to the final device number, information that said devices are not connected is sequentially stored in the device arrangement storage means 8. Upon the completion of storing the information on the final device number, the termination deciding part 23 of the decision control means 6 detects the termination of the decision, and all processing ends. Thus a maintenance and diagnosis device can recognize the arrangement of the logical units. |
