The torque limiting clutch mechanism comprises first and second rotors 140, 170 in confrontation to transmit rotational drive from the handle 101 to the lockable mechanism. The first and second rotors 140, 170, may be opposed coaxially or circumferentially, and are arranged to slip against each other (fig 6b) beyond a maximum transferred torque. The first and second rotors may be biased towards each other, and may have teeth 140, 170, or a tapered/conical surface (840, 860, figs 8-11) which may also include rollers 850 in grooves. The torque limiting clutch mechanism limits the torque which can be applied by the handle 100 such as to a lockable mechanism for securing a door/leaf within a frame to prevent damage when excess pressure or torque is applied to the handle 100. |
